Brenda received her architectural degree from the University of Minnesota in 1983. After a study program in Copenhagen researching Scandinavian furniture and design, she relocated to San Francisco working at LIMN, and for Holly Hulburd. She then moved to Japan to pursue her interests in Japanese design, working for a premier Tokyo design firm. Shortly after her return to the US, and New York City, she formed NV/da with her husband Tom. Brenda keeps us all on our toes.

Tom received his architectural education at the University of Texas at Austin, graduating in 1985. He moved to New York City that year and received broad training at a number of prestigious offices including; Steven Holl, Tod Williams & Billie Tsien, Kohn Pedersen Fox, Aldo Rossi, Michael Gabellini, Elskop Scholz, and Agrest & Gandelsonas. He founded NV/da with his wife, Brenda Nelson in 1998. Tom has a covert life as an artist.

Jason received his Bachelor’s Degree at Colgate University in 2000, and his Masters Degree in Architecture from Rice University in Houston in 2005, winning the Darden Award for Best Thesis. He worked as a student intern at Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates in New York City, and as an intern at Andersen LaRocca Anderson Haynes in Rye, New York. Jason coaches swimming and water polo.

A native of Rhode Island, Mike received his Bachelor’s Degree from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in 2003, and his Masters Degree in Architecture from Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute in 2007. Prior to his study in New York, he spent 3 years working in Baltimore for Grant Architects. They like their coffee milk in Rhode Island.

Angela Bracco designer

Angela graduated from the California Polytechnic State University in 2007, before moving to New York City. She has extensive experience in construction and fabrication. Angela’s an avid boxer and an accomplished welder.
