DESCRIPTION: Built as the first new multi-family apartment building in the early 20th century, the Alden required extensive waterproofing of its exterior walls and inner light court. The large wooden street-facing bay windows, its wood cornice, and brownstone entry portico were all extensively restored. The project was financed through the Historic Property Fund of the New York City Landmark Conservancy.
