Monroe Place
This restoration returned a long-vacant historic mansion to its place within the architectural fabric of Brooklyn Heights. Working from a limited collection of historic photographs and archival documentation, the building's masonry, woodwork, and ornamental details were meticulously reconstructed to honor the original design.
More than the restoration of a single structure, the project reinforces the historic streetscape and reestablishes the mansion as a prominent gateway to the neighborhood's eastern edge, demonstrating the lasting value of thoughtful preservation in strengthening both architecture and community.
